Chayse’s Unscheduled Yakking…

May 8

Been tied up with some personal and family issues since March with no real time to write. Life has been a bitch and then some. Don’t exactly know when I’ll get back to my stories. Dirty shame in my opinion. Or fate, dammit. Anyhow, I’m hoping one day soon things will change for the better.

March 23

SWEET & VICIOUS is listed for free at Smashwords. Will Amazon and other indie publishers follow? We’ll see.

I think I’ve been away from writing too damn long. Vacations tend to do that, but mine was a hoot and worthwhile. BUT, as I look at the story I was working on, it’s like...WTF is this about??? I'm totally lost right now and unable to focus on this stuff. I thought the vacation would provide inspiration! Instead, it’s wiped my brain clean. Surely this phenonmena has happened to other writers. What does one do to get back into the habit? So far, I’ve lost ambition and the desire to continue. Maybe seeing the ton of emails I have to go through has taken away both.

Can't get to time to write anymore. Vacationing soon after the New Year. Everything is on hold until Feb. Hope eveyone has a great New Year! I will.

Dec 2

Wow, I've been busy. With everything. The holidays usually slow down my writing for one reason or another. But so far, it’s progressing nicely. I’m just shy of the two-thirds mark and pushing on ahead. Sure would like to finish the first draft before 2011 ends. Actually, before Xmas.

Nov 2

My writing slowed down. I changed some plot points and, naturally, it affected quite a few other points. BUT I’m halfway through the story and it’s going well! Can’t say how long before I type The End. Then, of course, edits.

Well over 1/3 of the way into this story and having a great time with it!

It’s amazing how well things move along when you’re focused, but I’ve also made some changes since writing a brief outline. I absolutely despise writing outlines/synopses, but this time it worked for me. Previously, I’d loose interest in a story where I knew too much. A seat of the pants person, I want my characters to lead the way. Karrene and Dane are doing just that.

Uploaded the first scene of an untitled suspense

I went ahead an did it, but it’ll take awhile before I’m finished with this story. Moving right along too. Click on the Sneak Peeks page and you’ll see it listed. Happy reading!

Back on duty

Twas a long and relaxing break. I think I’ve pulled my shit together. I’m working on a suspense, the next untitled project that follows Web of Secrets. I’m thinking of uploading part of the beginning. Don’t no yet. So far, I’m 125 pages into it. Not bad, huh? I love the protaganists in these stories. Lieutenant Karrene Stevens and Detective Dane Kingman will have their hands full with this one. Check back for updates.

Jul 10…TAKING A BREAK FROM IT ALL FOR AWHILE.

The first-day-of-summer rant

No doubt that I’m a liberal, but I do agree with an issue or two of the rightists.

Our economy is jacked-up. It certainly needs fixing if we don’t want to fall into the same predicament as several other hurting nations. The problem is—how did it get the way it is and how do we make repairs? The first is a no-brainer. Our country’s economy was in great shape...pre-GWBush era. The second—sure, spending cuts would help the dilemma. But raising taxes would help too. So tell me, why do Republicans believe the upper 3% of the population shouldn’t pay their share of taxes? Why not set a graduated flat-tax rate across the board, no loopholes for regular folks, the more fortunate group, or corporations? Tell me why they believe the rich help the economy when someone buys a damn M. Monroe dress for $5.6 million. How does ridiculous stuff like this help our economy?

I decided to resurrect and rework an old story. Should be interesting. I remember this story was noted by a contest or two, and a few agents requested but didn’t bite. Around about ’06 or ’07 I quit entering contests (even dropped out of some writers’ organizations I wasn’t feelin’). I don’t care what people say. You put your stuff in the streets and somebody is sure to lift your idea, add a new twist, and put it in their own words. New writers are lucky to have another option by self-pubbing. It might take some time to get noticed, but it could be well worth the effort.

Writing not going so good. Thought processes for the new story slammed into a brick wall after churning out 15k words. Any ideas to help me out there?

WEB OF SECRETS has finally gotten approved for the premium catalog at Smashwords, which means, it’ll finally get distributed to other book dealers like Barnes and Noble, Sony, Apple... About damn time.

May 1

WEB OF SECRETS is up at Smashwords, but not in the premium catalogue for a while. Amazon should have it up sometime tomorrow late. Already on my Sneak Peeks page.
